Mike is the president of BKCA.
I have lived in Bedford or its villages all my life with family history stretching back around two hundred years. My background is Chartered Accountancy, then manufacturing businesses, specifically printing and publishing where I have undertaken two management buyouts expanding turnover to £8M, whilst ensuring businesses were profitable and able to invest in the latest machinery e.g. ten colour B1 litho press and an array of digital printing employing over fifty latterly working 24/7. at the point of my retirement.
I currently live on a new estate and fully conversant with all aspects of and problems of managed land where Councils have off loaded responsibility to Management Companies, plus problems appertaining to getting water and sewerage company adoption along with Borough Council adoption of roads, pavements street lighting from Developers / Builders. Happy to help and a contributor to the Reform of Estate Management charges / Leasehold and Freehold Bill now in the Kings Speech (promoted by Richard Fuller). I am finally being appointed a director of the estate management company where I live after countless delays and holdups by the Developers to avoid resident involvement.
I have been an active Conservative Campaigner for more years than I care to remember and currently fully involved on the Pinder Chauhan Parliamentary campaign team to ensure success in the General Election in 2024. You will often find me on the doorsteps talking to residents. I am President of the Bedford & Kempston Conservative Association.
