Tom Wootton said ‘No-one denies that Bedford needed improvements to its road systems. But the Mayor’s inability to properly manage the process and hold the contractors to account has led to a nightmare of traffic jams and chaos on Bedford’s roads. In particular, the impact on the town centre has been catastrophic. When was the last time you took on the traffic and went into town? And if you did, did it have what you were looking for?
