The Bedford & Kempston Conservative Association were pleased to welcome Nadine Dorries MP to our latest Political Supper. Nadine is MP for our neighbouring constituency Mid Beds and also Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Health and Social Care.
A great night was had, with members enjoying a two course meal, Q&A session with Nadine, and to finish off the night a traditional raffle. During the evening Nadine was able to share a first hand account of events from Parliament in the preceding week, which had caused such a media impact. With Brexit being so high on everyone’s minds Nadine was able to provide an insight into the Governments strategy to delivering an exit from the EU and how the opposition to Brexit may try and prevent the Government from carrying this out. Nadine also shared with the room her plans and goals whilst being a Health Minister. Among those plans she mentioned an ambition for mental health workers to be based in every school in the country.
A massive thank you to everyone who attended, with all proceeds helping to fund the Association and its campaigns to help improve Bedford & Kempston.
