In May 2023 the Conservative Party in Bedford Borough exceeded all expectations, increasing our number of Cllrs and removing Mayor Hodgson from office, replacing him with our very own Mayor Tom. Since then the Conservative Administration in the Council have worked hard for Bedford replacing the leisure provider for our important facilities, committing millions of pounds to invest in our public services, and delivering on your priorities.
While we are only a minority administration we have been able to secure investment for the following projects in Bedford and Kempston against bitter opposition from the “delete all” Lib Dems and Labour:
- A new health hub for Kempston
- £25mn to regenerate our Bedford and Kempston town centres
- A complete repair and refurbishment of our leisure facilities
- The recently completed works to the A6 including essential safety repairs to the central reservation
The Administration has also recently proposed its annual Budget, the first Conservative Budget for Bedford Borough in a generation, which includes essential funding to help Daubeney School and invests in frontline services across the Borough.
Outside of the Borough we continue to support our excellent Parliamentary candidate in Bedford and Kempston, Pinder Chauhan, who has worked tirelessly across the constituency to win the hearts and minds of the people of Bedford and Kempston. We are blessed to have such a hard working candidate and if you have any free time at all over the next few weeks do please reach out to the Association and we’d be happy to link you up with Pinder and her campaign team.
